Assassin's Creed Reveals Surprising AoT Crossover for Thanksgiving

In a surprising collaboration that challenges conventional expectations, Ubisoft has announced an digital partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing free additional story content for Shadows players.

Peculiar Mission Uncovered

According to the official announcement, "A strange meeting draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where hints of banned practices and terrifying changes echo through the obscurity." The storyline introduces a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a secret cult.

The mission centers on "bizarre experiments and a fearsome adversary" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Settings and Transformations

The trailer showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was formerly where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview finishes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, presumably the captive, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Rewards and Additional Content

Players who accomplish the mission will receive an special katana in addition to several objects secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:

  • Titan-based attire for Yasuke
  • Mikasa costume for Naoe
  • Unique weapons
  • Survey Corps mount

Newest Free Story Addition

This patch also brings the game's latest free story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This humorous quest teams Naoe and Yasuke as they swap signature techniques: Naoe introduces a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-lethal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Mystery" also contains a fresh environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

Previous Anime Crossovers

This represents scarcely the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with famous anime properties. The series formerly included a 2020 cross-promotional story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Furthermore, Valhalla unofficially contained a quest that obviously echoed the popular series One-Punch Man.
